DLT-V4, which represents the 4th generation of VS drives. This new drive still provides all the advantages of the popular VS drive technology.

DLT-V4 comes with a most compact form factor with 5,25" in just half height. So it´s well designed for being integrated into any Server environments as well as a stand alone appliance. Just like the previous VS generations the DLT-V4 offers an excellent price- capacity ratio.

This applies for the huge capacity of 320 GB as well as for the outstanding performance of up to 72 GB per hour. The DLT-V4 offers another product highlight. It´s the first drive of this class that provides a S-ATA interface. This extremely popular and modern interface is also used in almost any entry level to midrange server. For the customer this means a significantly lower installation effort as there is no need for an additional SCSI interface within the server any more. This will of course also help to reduce the cost of the total system.

Compatible Linux versions are for SCSI drive only. Please refer to your software vendor for Linux and S-ATA support. Just like the previous DLT VS generations the Tandberg DLT-V4 supports all the major operating systems and backup applications.

Another product highlight and extra benefit is the fact that the DLT-V4 is able to read cartridges recorded with its predecessors DLT VS160, DLT VS80 or DLT1. Moreover it utilizes the same media as the DLT VS160: The DLTtape VS1 data cartridge and the DLT VS160/V4 cleaning cartridge.
